Thanks to the generous contributions from individuals in the White Bear Lake area, the Greater White Bear Lake Community Foundation is pleased to announce it will begin accepting grant applications from area organizations beginning June 1st, 2017. Up to $32,000 will be available to grant from the Foundation’s Community Partners Fund.

Established in 2015, GWBLCF’s mission is to inspire philanthropy and enrich the lives of people in the communities that share the shores of White Bear Lake – Birchwood Village, Dellwood, Mahtomedi, White Bear Lake, and White Bear Township, now and in the future.

In general, grants will range from $1,000-$5,000 and will be awarded to nonprofit and community organization programs and projects that directly benefit, serve and respond to timely community needs and that are consistent with the Foundation’s mission.

“I am thrilled that we are able to offer grants in the greater White Bear Lake area that will enhance our communities in the short and long term,” stated Carol McFarlane, vice chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and chair of the Grants Committee. “Our hope is that this provides an opportunity for some new initiatives and/or collaborations to be created.”

The Foundation will host two Informational meetings to discuss the grants program: June 21, 7:30 – 8:30 AM in White Bear Lake and July 11th , 4:30 – 5:30 PM in Mahtomedi.

All grant applications are due by August 15th, 2017. For more information about the Foundation and the Community Grants program, and to register for an informational meeting, visit the Foundation’s website: greaterwblfoundation.org, or email jackier@greaterwblfoundation.org
